It has a distinctive smell. My niece said. The UK.
Yeah it does. I said. Different places have different smell.
It’s so dark here. She said.
A gush of wind blew through my left sleeve.
And cold. I said.
I almost forgot how dark and cold here.
On our way to London the train was very packed, very quiet. Nobody was talking and giggling except us.
The room wasn’t ready for checkin, we put our bags down and wondered around. I showed her Covent Garden and my uni. Bought her a new backpack and myself a new beanie. At least my head feels warm now.
We went to dishroom for breakfast. I took her to my favourite macron place.
It feels strange to introduce London to one of my family. A place I used to enjoy. Now it feels a bit distant. This said I still know my way around Covent Garden, Chinatown and Bloomsbury. I suspect I’ll know my way just as well if we go to Earl’s Court and South Kensington.
She wants to have shawarma(bc of the the game shawarma legend), I decide to take her to the place with delicious chicken liver wrap later.
