The time we came back at night, Stem Cell was already asleep. My mum came back first, she said it looked cheered up slightly, but still refuses to leave the box unless necessary. I felt guilty af.
I approached it quietly and put it in my lap, gently stroking it. It seems confused at first because I woke it up, then it realised it’s me, it started tearing up. I’ve never seen a cat cry before but it’s so obvious and easy to recognise, her eye frames became so watery it started to overflow slowly. I kissed it and said I’m sorry. Later in the evening she wouldn’t sleep on the bed, but in the box instead. The next day I figured there’s something wrong with her breathing. We took her to the vet. She did some blood tests and ultrasound. Turns out she caught some deadly virus. Lucky we noticed early. She had an injection and will take pills for the next couple of weeks. I went home and researched this is a pill previously made for tackling Ebola. Lucky she’s a 2020s cat. She would probably die if it was a few years ago. We have no idea where she caught it, the doctor said it might because she was scared and had a low immune system. Poor princess Cell.
