Explained to HHZ what a gauge is. The original convo came from Poincaré gauge theory of gravity. He didn’t know what a gauge is so I explained it’s a way to measuring things, once you use this way to measure things, basic properties of the universe emerge and you can predict unfound particles by applying this gauge transformation. He still couldn’t understand so I explained it’s like invisible ink, if you don’t use the correct solvent nothing would show up, but if you do words appear.
