Heard on the news about latest trend that Picasso is not seen cool anymore from his misogynistic past. SMH I always thought Picasso and Warhol are way toooooo inflated.

If I have the money I would buy Su Shi, a real artist, legendary poet and philosopher. A superstar at his time already and the thousand of years after.

The highest price for Chinese painting is current held by Qi Baishi, which I’m not as keen. Even then the price is much lower than western paintings. I think it reflects China is not as rich as people would like to say, and laundry dirty money is not as systematic yet.

Also saw MM’s story the other day a light blue/greenish bottle auctioned 1.7 million pounds (14mil CNY), I texted to ask her if it’s Long Quan Yao, bc blue greenish (青釉）is either Song dynasty Long Quan Yao or Qing dynasty Yong Zhen era ceramics, they are famous for their delicate and graceful pure colors- I thought it's absolutely crazy, the last time I've seen it auctioned its around 4 mil CNY, literally 3 folds in a few years
