First to clear out the misconception I had- QD in 3D shouldn’t do calculation in 3D because the dimensionality is reduced by the cut off/abrupt drop in density of state. I know it sounds trivial af but why did nobody tell me this before?

I like Peter Blood. He’s the type of person that inspired me to be a scientist. Concise, clear, even the stuff he doesn’t know he’ll have an explanation or guess. It’s refreshing compare to the talks of all mumbling and jargon. I haven’t write science in a long time because everything I read nowadays are no more than a quick scan. But he bring out the curiosity I had- Anything in significant depth is interesting.

He also encourage us to have a good balance between reflection and talking, because ‘No one has the whole truth.’

Heard a gossip, ICS is running out of funding. Prof. S’s problem start with million i guess. I have a strange feeling- the older one gets, the bigger ability one has, more difficult his/her problem become, more responsibility he/she has. Money will never be enough. Trouble and problem will always persist.

He applied for millions, probably hundred million to build this facility, and the beneficiaries are… us, someone like me, someone young.
